Puerto Rico Virgin Islands |
The continuing widely-scattered quakes around Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are interesting. I'd like to know whether other subduction zones have this behavior over a couple of years. The USGS site only reports all quakes down to M2.5 for USA, plus I don't check maps for the world, so have only Alaska and Pac Northwest to compare. But, subduction rates are far faster in Alaska and we don't see this behavior all the time (?). Maybe it is the oblique motion for Puerto Rico...scatters quakes into upper plate? Something must be moving/creeping? Follow Ups: ● Re: Puerto Rico Virgin Islands - Canie 00:10:23 - 5/25/2009 (75332) (0) |
