I enjoyed reading your account of the earthquake. I myself have been on the epicenter (at least within 3 miles) of several mag 4 quakes and related well to your description. Not sure for those that have never been near one, but they are definetly a good jolt and will leave you wondering if you had just gone through a mag 6 or 7 of a greater distance from you. I remember living in the bay area and being on top of a 4.6, things were flying off the shelfs, there was loud rumble, I thought for sure the bay area was hit with something. I turn on the tv and they are just carrying on with normal primetime tv, then I listened to the radio, and slowly they were getting felt reports of minor shaking like 30 miles from me, I knew then I had to be on top of it which was confirmed later on in the news.

Would hate to be on top of anything larger than a 5!
