There are a small handful of accounts of "boats lost along with their
boatman," and I believe an account of a "Negro" who perished. The one
specific account I know about is by George Heinrich Crist: "We lost our
Amandy Jane in this one. A log fell on her."

My educated guess for total fatalities during the sequence would be 10-20.
