I don't have any idea on this either...

I do remember noticing a lot of little quakes prior to the San Simeon quake years ago---just instinct from long observation.

We do have a lot of quakes over a wide swath of So Cal. Haven't seen anything like the 4plus on the Garlock in years, though. Always wondered when that left lateral might go.
