OH I have heard of this, just didn't know what it was called. Isn't the Santa Monica Fault that runs east west one of these? I.E. at one time it ran North south and then rotated? Are you saying these Mojave faults, some of them anyway, use to run more east west and got turned to be north south? If I'm right and the SM fault ran north south millions of years ago, was it more active then? I Live right by it and you can see tones of surface features indicating high activity, yet they say now its barely moves, so wondering if those features are left over before it "rotated" and was more active.
