Well, there is low speed satellite internet. There are gale warnings and the seas were rough, so we did not do the route to Santa Barbara Channel that would allow us to survey the East Santa Cruz Basin fault: we needed to go the more direct route because the weather slowed the ship a lot and delayed the departure because coring equipment had to be mounted in the shelter of the harbor. Even coming NW in the inner waters, there were a lot of sick people on the ship.
