It is small compared to the big UNOLS (USA) ships and especially the antartic ice breaker Palmer. Piri Reis is about 35 m long. There were about 10 science party (half students) and 10 crew, and yes, I lived on ship for 3 weeks...kind of have to when you are working at sea. I liked the ship...but lab space was real small (where the data acquisition and processing/interpretation took place).
4 to a room, but that was fine and is not unusual. Food was good.

Most import, data collected were excellent despite some limitations.
