Tony, Can you explain what virtual community scripting is (can be brief)? As some of my posts on this thread suggest, one if the challenges for our project (which does not exist unless we are funded) is that it is specialized, although because of the regional thrust earthquake beneath Los Angeles component, could be made interesting.
By the way, I sent a piece of your earlier comment as well as Robert Baum's out in email to a group of scientists working on a climate related drilling proposal for Antarctica. This proposal has been rejected 3 times; it is being rewritten to focus on climate much better rather than tectonics. We came real close to giving up on it. Rather than farm the outreach out to an outreach specialist, I'm suggesting that each research group (5 universities) make some effort.
