Thanks, Penny, I guess we'll just go one day and try to make the most of it. If we smell sulfur, we will drive to another area of the caldera and hope for better trekking. We like to take that hours-long hike across the main caldera, so we might be okay, depending upon which way the wind is blowing. This is our 12 yo daughter's first trip to Hawaii, and I can't imagine her not seeing the volcano and all the other goodies in the area. I know there are active flows right now. Maybe we could see one of them at a distance. Guess we'll just try our luck. Will let you all know how it turns out. Thanks, Penny, for doing a little leg work on our behalf.
