What's an "E"? E-alert?
The 1906 picture is kind of cool. Note that the San Andreas fault is perched up on a side hill with limited geomorphic evidence (at least from the ground) that it would be there. Intuitively I would look for the fault near the break in slope at the bottom of the hill, but that commonly is not the case....Santa Rosa Island fault, Santa Cruz Island fault being examples.
