We've got so many spots that have been building up in California. I keep remembering that in the years between 1857 and 1906, California had at least 3 very major quakes near current metropolitan areas. Since then, we've been very very lucky and those areas have been relatively quiet.(I know---tell that to the relatives of the dead from Loma Prieta, San Fernando, etc. but that's in human terms.)

I cannot imagine what a repeat of the quakes at Ft. Tejon, Lone Pine and San Francisco would do to California and the nation. Although if the Inglewood Fault decided to repeat the 1933 quake...
