Hi Chris - if we had about 1-2 billion, instead of 6 billion people on this planet, I'm sure the environmental issues would solve themselves.. How we get to that stage is beyond me, but if we're not careful, dear Mother Nature will solve the problem for us. I have no problem with human population control. I think our government, with welfare and immigration policies, is only encouraging reproduction - when the government rewards you for having children, and pays for everything, even though you may not be a citizen and have never paid into the system, or come from generations of the same, it only exacerbates our situation - and places an unfair burden on people like you and me. Where would these people be if it were more like the year 900AD? Would they even survive not doing anything for their own welfare except to be a burden on society? Ahh.. another tangent.. It's too early for me I guess..
