I don't agree with the answer about leaving the gas supply on. Re-lighting pilot lights is not that big a problem, compared to the potential fire problem after an earthquake. That's my personal opinion.

I and the wife went to Walmart yesterday. Great prices. We were right in the middle of that joint and I asked her..."What if there is an earthquake right now"? She says "I'm following you"!!! At that point, we both knew there is no safe place to be in a big, humongus Walmart store. I'm not sure what I would do. I know one thing, once the shaking IS over, best get out of my way. I will get out, ALIVE. (first time I've been in a Walmart. Gives me the heebee jeebees)
