What I am looking for is the average depth of quakes in two regions of the Anza Seismic Gap. One region is north of Anza Town, the other to the south, as we all know. Can you program for average depth of quakes given the PDE program from 1973 till now? I know you can deal with magnitudes, dates, and obviously the syszygy-perigee distractions. Let's deal with two fields. These are not arbitrary nor cherry picked in any statistical manner. One field is north of Anza, the other south....

The purpose of the data is to understand if a series of deeper or shallower quakes (say in a rapid swarm) could indicate a larger seismic event based on the fault structure and geology of the San Jacinto fault region. Studies may have been done on this already, but I think people here on this forum would find the results interesting (and maybe others!)

Parameters;

PDE---Search USGS (Or if you have something better)

Magnitude 1.0 to 9.99----results are 2.70+ from PDE that I have seen

South Field Lat-Lon
33.488N.....116.505W 10 Km Circular

North Field Lat Lon
33.646N.....116.710W 10 Km Circular

It would be interesting to know the depths of the 2.5+ quakes on each side, if you have a way to configure that into one of your programs. I suppose that if an average can be found for each field, we could determine if a much deeper quake is significant to the average? Although that would not mean a larger quake by any means. Hope I asked for the right info. Or maybe I missed a factor?
