My PolSci professor, having determined from my essays that I was a nontheist, and at an end-of-the-semester party at a local tavern, wished me a Merry Christmas, and then promptly retracted it! I assured him that I've always enjoyed Christmas, and that his salutation was entirely appropriate. And so, and in order to appease Bill O'Reilly, I also wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a great Winter Solstice celebration as well.
