Penny, I hope you're wrong about that bad feeling you have.

Just last weekend, the spouse and I took down every book (there must have been fifty) and magazine we had stored on top of our headboard for years, just because it was such an eq danger. Managed to find new homes for all of them, and now the headboard is uncluttered. Looks so much nicer, and there was nothing to fall on my head during this latest quake.

That was the last we had to do to make this house entirely earthquake safe. When I designed it, I threw an extra $30,000 into the foundation (we are on 12' pilons) and have more hold downs than our building inspector had ever seen. I wouldn't let them build on fill. Moved the house back to solid earth.

I don't think we'll be going anywhere.
