argument without evidence

I'm an empirical scientist. We can make a model that does anything, including re-rupturing many times within seconds or exhibiting only perfectly characteristic earthquake cycles. The question is whether the Earth does it, and we don't have the evidence in hand. As far as the southern San Andreas and the Carrizo Plain ruptures go, your original scenario above in this thread, I strongly suspect their ruptures would sufficiently raise the risks of M6-7 events right under the SoCal cities that people would face much greater hazard after those events than before for many years.
