Skip PERL distribution - script or exe entirely...

...instead use PERL/PHP/EXPECT/BASH/CSH/etc to get the data and pump a SQL database (PSQL, MYSQL, Oracle) or filesystem files.

USE PHP and PHPLOT to publish...or PHP and some other browser capable pre-processor charting scripts/program.

Published via web server as I once did - no need to send or distribute - those who want it will grab it...

Faster...less overhead...single point site maintenance and publication.

Here's another tip that I have found to be very helpful...

Combine programming languages and scripting language that are based in the same coding type, style and standards...

BASH/CSH
C/C++
PHP (C based)

That's what I typically go with - hell of a lot less learning curve involved.
