I've looked at close-in quakes, from 100 to 500 km or less and within 30 days and in all cases they were on the same day, typically 385 of them. But these were all excluded from the previous tests by the distance requirements.

I found a java applet for testing for poisson but it only goes to 14 pairs. No help there.

Chris seems to be onto something but I can't test without knowing the expected values.
