I took my eleven-year-old daughter, who is a voracious reader, to the public library the other day to get her a card and some books. (She read all seven in two days, so we had to return yesterday for eight more.)
Anyway, while I was there, the reference librarian recognized me and came running up with the library's copy of "Rocket City" and asked if I would inscribe it. How could I say no? I'm afraid I was all out of pith, so I just signed my name, but she seemed very happy nonetheless. I was just flattered that she recognized me 13 years after the jacket photo was taken.
