What? The media not being up to standards? How dare you!! :) At first I thought it was a stand alone p-wave detector. But your post made me re-read it where I realized it was a remote p-wave detector. This would be good in places like SoCal where we can place strong motion detectors right on or near the San Andreas or other 'pregnant' faults. These devices would then send out an alert, and here in the LA Basin where the bulk of the population is, we could have over a minute of warning time. As they say, you can't outrun Motorola.
