M5.6 SW Gulf of Mexico

There was a M5.6 in the SW Gulf of Mexico...south of the Border,...beneath the base of the Continental slope. A few months or a year ago, there was a M6 in the east Gulf of Mexico, offshore Florida. Today's is set at 33 km/depth, which is no doubt not a real depth, but set by a location program. There is a fold and thrust belt near the base of the slope offshore south Texas, the "toe" of the giant gravity-driven growth faults ...like a mega-landslide. But, I suspect this quake will be beneath that and unrelated...I think the offshore Florida quake was deep and an unexpected mechanism (thrust?). Chris
