Chris, we are heavily dependent on petroleum. Right now there is nothing coming in to produce a big increase in bpa like the "Green Revolution" did in the '60. Also we have a booming economy in Asia using more petroleum and food and there is very little land to convert to food production. The U.S. imports much of the fertilizer as it is not a high-end commodity so like white, rice and corn gluten of recent news production has been shipped off shore. As the world changes U.S. ag production could well be at the mercy of other countries not only for oil but also the fertilizers we use to produce food. Gas in NEK last night 3.17 down on the OK/KS line one of sibs said he paid 3.40 yesterday. Also watch for more China to other nations for nation to nation contracts on buying a certain percent of a specific food crop in decade long contracts. This food will never go on the world market.
