Hi Olivia, Thanks for the google.com lead. Yes I've seen many of those sites before. A lot of them are about what the cities surronding the area Santa Monica/W LA plan on doing if there was a quake on the fault, but nothing about the science concerning the fault. I feel comfortable that the fault is fairly low key, i.e. look at the bay area, all you hear about is the Hayward fault up there. If the Santa Monica fault really concerned a risk, I'm sure we would have all heard about it by now. But then again, I've observed the LA media is very lame when reporting siesmicity here. If a shaker happens, they are all over it, but ALWAYS leave out the significant science details, esp. KCAL9! Time will tell. Where ever you move in CA I guess you'll be near some fault.
