Why do you say that? Either case is possible.

In previous tests I have taken it to mean two separate areas, 6 degrees each. Under that assumption you score below chance. But if I take it to mean the whole area, you'll get more hits but the probability will be so low as to make them meaningless.

You lose either way but I would like to make the test match what you intended.
