I found it interesting that you didn’t see the nucleation phase before the main shock.

When you speak of the coal roof I take you are referring to the top. Could it be that sagging is causing the main shock? It seems to me that an area of the size you stated would have some sag and may be more pronounced as more material is removed.

The fact that you see thousands of events per day in the coal seams could be the shearing of the weaker seams and this in turn causes sudden sag. I suspect however that you have already given this some thought.

How many of these events were felt?

I don’t understand the meaning of the energy 1E5 – 6J. Could you please explain? Thank You…Don in creepy town.
