Re: not enough time for P wave trigger |
Chris and Shan, Has it been fully established that P waves do trigger distant quakes? I know that I do see numerous doublets in Anza. They typically happen south of the seismic gap, and the time frames match up, as in travel time. These may be coincidence, but I don't think so. I would expect to see more of the reactionary quakes happen on the same fault strand, but they don't. The other problem with a micro reaction is P wave entrapment and how a t wave gets guided up any particular fault strand. I would think the reactionaries would happen on the same strand. I can make a better case for a reactionary pattern between Borrego Badlands (Clark segment) and Anza proper. I am not sure I could convince Vidale though. Just thinking out loud.
