Re: Back online |
Well, that won't be a problem now. I bought enough extra hard drives that I can just straight copy all files for backup purposes. And once I had my new OS up and running, that's the first thing I did. Now my problem is getting everything back up and running - specifically importing all my emails, address books, bookmarks, newsgroups, etc.... Actually, since I'm installing the same software it's a piece of cake to do manually. Once the program is installed, all I do is manually copy over the necessary files. But it's still a chore. Oh, and writing down all my bookmarks would take me a year. I have thousands of bookmarks. They're all nicely organized and alphabetized...well..90% of them anyway. The bookmark file is over 2 megs. What's confusing is having all these multiple drives online at once. I break up my drives into four partitions each, so right now, with 4 drives online, I have 16 partitions. That, plus my DVD drives and CF reader leaves me with drive letters C thru U!!! Obviously, I need to do some reorganizing there. :) Brian Follow Ups: ● Re: Back online - Roger Hunter 22:36:40 - 3/16/2007 (63597) (1) ● Re: Back online - Skywise 23:37:36 - 3/16/2007 (63600) (1) ● backups - heartland chris 06:59:20 - 3/17/2007 (63605) (0) |
