I had an e-mail exchange with Weimar and he set me straight about a few things. I hate to say this, but I was confusing seismic quiesence with seismic gap. Oh well.

However, no matter, learning is fun. Now that I know the difference I still say the quakes off of Canada were precursors to the Olympia event. It also gives me reason to watch that area and see if the same thing happens before another area decides to take the duck under. Will we have a repeat performance of the '49 event? Or will the neighbor to the south, Oregon go first?

Should be interesting to watch the events unfold and see what Mother Earth has in store for us.
