San Simeon quakes

There were 2 quakes very close to the San Simeon fault; a M3.7 and then a M3.2. Both focal mechanisms were consistent with being on the right-lateral San Simeon fault. That fault is part of the San Gregorio-San Simeon-Hosgri fault system. The San Gregorio fault is thought to have a slip rate of somthing like 6 or 8 mm/yr; the San Simeon fault is thought to have about 3 mm/yr, and the Hosgri fault Holocene (last 10,000 years) rate is not known, but is likely only about 1 mm/yr. There was a GSA Special paper on this fault system with a lot of slip on the fault system, but the model simply does not work for the Hosgri fault. If we ever get around to it, we need to do some work and write a paper about where the missing slip goes...we think we know where part of it goes...
