I thought of Luke's link to the article (colonist) on the alarm around Vancouver island that a great quake there might be triggered by the slip events that occur every 14 months or so: is it more likely that the great quake will be triggered by one of these events? Or, if triggered but a couple of weeks or months later, interesting but not of much use to prediction.
