i finally had to draw a picture to see what was happening. I drew a line 8" long and divided it into 1/4" subdivisions. Then I chose a 1" window and marked off the first set of windows. 8 in all, covering the total length. Then I started a second layer 1/4" in from the left side, marking off 1" windows. I had to stop at 7; not enough room for the 8th. 3rd, 4th and 5th layers also have only 7 and the 5th layer reaches the right end. So we have 36 windows in all but we have gaps at each end. Quakes near the ends will not be counted as often as quakes in the middle. So how is this supposed to improve things? You're just introducing a new error. Roger Follow Ups: ● We've come to drawing?
