Checking Local Resources

Hello Chris, You did notice the 5.08 Mw. I too found that a bit odd. Even the A quality MT solutions get changed. I'll do some digging on the variance reductions. That's new to me, like many others things regarding seismology. What I did find interesting about the 3 quakes is that they happened near Agua Caliente hot springs, which I believe to be related to detachment faulting. My reasoning is based on the epithermal mineralization in that area. I'll check local sources, but I suspect due to color (and olfactory) it has a high Fe + S content. Again, I am doing the research on the research, and will spend some time this spring out there. I did talk to some local hounds and they have not found any Poway Clast type materials in the Pennisular Range at elevation. I still suspect that a portion of the clast is east of the PR based on Dibblees papers. If Miocene rotational transport deposited this clast in the Channel Islands, I think the granitic batholith may have separated a portion to the east, closer to the Sonora origin. This subject matter is of geologic interest, nothing to do with seismicity. I'll have more on possible Anza Gap AMR soon. Glen
