Hi Cathryn. Nope. Haven’t given that theory up. It still applies. The Coalinga quake was associated with the Great Valley Fault, which is a subduction, or thrust fault. Two different types of faults, but both receive their movement from the same source. At least I think they do. That movement is the collision of the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate. How there can be sufficient creep along one fault to prevent a large quake while at the same time cause a quake on another fault about 15 miles to the east is beyond me. To many questions not enough answers. Another one in 2005 wouldn't surprise me a bit. Where, is the question. How is the neck? Take Care…Don in creepy town. Follow Ups: ● Neck is great, thanks!
