A message from heartland wife:
We manage to get in the Mariott to listen to Al Gore. There were so
many people that we were herded in a large room where we could watch
him on giant screens (live), while he spoke to live audience in
another large room. There must have been 1000s of AGU people, and I
was sitting on the floor with ******.
His speech was quite different from the movie, addressing scientists
directly (he was preaching to the choir), asking us to be proactive
in communicating with the public, learning the skill of public
outreach, and standing for the inconvenient truth.

Well, I'll try to stand for the truth but our freaking car got less than 20 mpg the last tank of gas (cold weather, short trips). But, at least I drive much less here. Chris
