Hi Michael. Thanks for your interesting reply. Sorry to get off topic. The topic of this thread anyway. Can you go and do an earthquake search on the USGS near 30 year data set and input lattitude and longitude min/max of 9 to 8.5 and 94.2 to 93.6. I think that area should include both of the events in India. They were nearly an hour apart so they were likely two separate events. They even have two different locations on the "Near Real Time Earthquake List." I wanted to check the area to see if they had a large earthquake listed for that area. The M5.9 appears to be the largest in the USGS data. The other event has somehow not made the list. It was the earlier of the two events that is missing. So either the event is still to be listed by the USGS, there was a mistake in the "Near Real Time List" and the first one never ocurred or they decided since this one was under M5.5, they already have enough data input for that area. Who knows, but no doubt it will effect the probability.
