May have been started by a M5 aftershock on Thanksgiving day. I missed noticing that but talked to my sister and she felt it on Mauii. The depth listed (may have been set rather than determined) was deep again. There is a "late breaking" special session at AGU on these quakes. I'm curious to know more about them. Some good news for me: My paper on Oligocene glaciation of West Antarctica (~34-24 million years ago) is accepted pending revision, or at least not rejected, by "Geology". This paper was a whole lot less painful than the long one that just came out. Gives me an excuse to start a global warming thread again...but 2 proposals due Dec 1, really need to be done tomorrow...so better get to that. Speaking of global warming...we have been in the mid 60s to near 70....way above average, but it is going to drop 40 degrees Weds night and snow Thursday night. Nice little park a couple hundred meters from our door for cross-country skiing...grassy so could do on little snow. Chris
