Thanks for sharing that, John. I always kinda thought the Japanese would find something faster because they have so many quakes. I think thier biggest problem would be cultural noise, especially in the ionospheric side of it. I think I read somewhere that some of the instrumentation at Parkfield was registering the Bart trains up in the Bay area. If so, that would be a big problem in and around a city like Tokyo. I would think the entire magneto telluric coupling would be upset by a large metro area. They would have to filter that out, and look for piezo induced anamolies. I'll have to re-read some material on the VHF aspect of this. Glen
