Hi Cathryn. I’m still out to lunch about which fault the Loma Prieta quake was on. I will admit though that I’m leaning a little towards the San Andreas Fault as opposed to some unknown fault.

The Sargent Fault runs from the Calaveras Fault. with a starting point just north of Hollister. It looks like it might meet the San Andreas Fault north of Loma Prieta.

The Zayante-Vergeles looks like it may be an offshoot of the San Andreas, but the fault map I have shows that it is a fault all by its self and not part of the San Andreas system. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
