I think if a quake has missed by a month then there's no hit - that's just too much time gone by.... a week at most for any given miss should be enough.

I do agree on the major vs minor quakes - predicting a 7.0 and a 3.0 are a big difference - a little leeway for the larger and less for the smaller....
