East Bay Data

Hi All. At present I'm not all that sure that there is a strain build up at the southern end of the Hayward fault. Strain appears to be dropping, but at this point there have been no micro quakes in or around that area of the fault. There are things happening that I do not understand.

There have been two quakes on the Rodgers Creek fault that has me a little concerned. The first was a 1.6Md 2 miles NE of Santa Rosa, and a 1.9Md 7 miles NNW of Santa Rosa. If these quakes had been on the southern portion of the Rodgers Creek fault I think I would be a little nervous.

If there isn't a quake in the area in the next couple of days my record of being wrong for the Bay Area will remain at 100%. In many ways it’s a record I don't mind having.

I know one thing for sure. What I have learned from the SJB and Parkfield data doesn't seem to apply to the Bay Area. It has its own way doing things and I have yet to discover what that is. Take Care…Don in creepy town.
