I had a quake two summers ago....here in US right over the BC border...USGS has a mainframe room in Newport, north of Spokane but no recording devices here... I called Canadian geology and they were pretty much helpful. They also said quakes in my area frequently go un-noticed because of the lack of funds for this area in general...My Canadian button on the alert page is usually pretty accurate although sometimes they are as slow as University of Washington which likes to actually see the quakes before posting them....
