Excerpts from earthquake news. Long before the earth crashed down local environmentalists and safety activists (and public municipal officials) had asked the Supreme court to block construction citing removal of trees would cause landslides. Congress didn't respond and and the Supreme court denied the petition. Construction continued, business boomed and swimming pools and estates were built above the middle and lowe class neighborhood below. Only one mansion owned by an elderly AMERICAN woman survived. The money that caused these deaths came from somewhere, an example of exploitation and greed by rich foreigners and locals. Earthquakes don't kill people, the landslides avalanches and tsunamis they create do. And the buildings that aren't strong enough for local hazards kill people. There was a clear indication of danger not just existing but being created and the way was paved by CA$H! Now there's going to be hundreds of millions of dollars in relief aid from all over the world and the investors in the destruction walk away rich. If this was N.America, they would be liable and would not have been allowed to proceed...mb.
