To Martin: I quit smoking last February, after 38 years of inhaling tar and nicotine. I ran out of cigarettes one day when the weather was less than conducive to driving, and I decided right then and there that it was REALLY stupid to get in the car and drive on icy roads to get more fuel for my funeral. Cold turkey. Lotsa prayer. I hid a lot. Gained 30 lbs. but am on my way back down. Sure I miss smoking once in a while, but I think about all the money I've saved and the time I hope I've gained to spend with my future grandkids. It's certainly one of the hardest things I've ever done, but believe me, it's absolutely the BEST thing I've ever done! Hang in there, Martin - you will succeed!
