I have to disagree with your statement about tone. I don't think a tone of everybody agreeing (sp?) with everybody else is very constructive. Sure, a tone of everybody disagreeing with evrybody else is fruitless also, but I don't think we have either extreme on this board. I don't see any problem with an adult, rational debate. I think it's a great way to get the old noodle thinking.
