Michael, Like Roger, I link to my website. It needs a little updating. I've been working from a home office through U Cal Santa Barbara. I am a blue collar research geologist interested in faults who uses geophysical methods. By blue collar, it means I am not a star, have difficulty getting published and funded, partly because I sometimes don't write well (sometimes do write well, especially for short things like abstracts). I don't get in the field as much as I used to, but did get in the field for a couple days each in mid August and mid September. I seem to have lost some of my enthusiasm for that, but I think the right place would help get it back. Let's see, married 20 years, 1 daughter, who will be headed off to college next year. I'm semi-anonymous usually on this site because I don't want someone to find me and see something out of context (although not anonymous today). Canie says that I can't be found on this site that way (blocked to search engines?), but I was looking for John Vidale's email address in the last year with google and the #1 thing that came up was an attack on his ethics or something by "Ari" on one of these pages (not this one). John is more established than I am so that does not hurt him, but could hurt me. For example, if some reviewer of a proposal wanted to see who I was and finds me on a thread talking about eartones, it might cost me my funding.
Maybe I'll add to this later...
Chris
