Re:Jim Berklands Predictions |
Hi Michael, et al, Some years ago a serious scientist took the opportunity to review Jim's predictions as far back as his records recorded. He found them no better than random chance. He does not work for the USGS and is currently retired. I was rather alarmed when I learned about this and also upset when I learned that Jim had forecast Loma Prieta 14 times before it occurred. I sat in Jim's web-based classroom for a good long while and I have to say I learned a lot and caught the inspiration to see for myself what this was all about. There are no words to ever say thank you to him for all of his time and expense on behalf of quite a number. I've had the opportunity to sit with him, look into those big blue eyes of his and listen to a man who I swear should be on stage. He draws you in and makes you realize how full of life he is and how much you'd like to have some of that enthusiasm he has. He at times has been the father I never had, a good friend, a shoulder to cry on and has delivered words of wisdom I've known from no one else. Yeah, I love him and when the day comes that he is no longer here, he's going to be sorely missed by many including me.
