His is a case of severe whiplash. When he was hit, his head went over the steering wheel, and then snapped back at an angle such that he cut his ear on whatever dealybop it is that holds the shoulder strap in place. His whole neck and back are spasming. I had a severe soft tissue injury from just this kind of accident, and after 7 years of unbearable pain (and strain on my family) I finally found a doctor who would operate on me (after so many had refused). I have a 4-level fusion in my neck, and am just fine as long as nobody ever rear-ends me again. I hope he is young enough (24) to bounce back from this accident better than I was at 41.
