Hi Petra. What do mean “maybe later”? Gee! One would think you meant me harm. I have a strong suspicion that the stress for this quake would have been seen on the Echo Valley dilational strain data which of course hasn’t been up for about 6 months now. In the past all of the quakes in that area (the ones that were felt) have been forecasted by using the data from Echo Valley. This quake was closer then most. Don’t know if that means anything or not. I checked the creep immediately after the quake and found no change. It may be to early to tell one way or the other. The problem is that there has been acceleration of creep in the past, but there was no earthquake. In 1984 there was an acceleration of creep at SJB that lasted 11 weeks. Then we had the 6.1Ml quake in Morgan Hill. That tells me sometimes we will have a quake and other times we won’t. Sure wish I knew one from the other…Take Care.
