Re: 8 days since last M6

I'm going to go with the San Francisco area (sorry, San Franciscans!) because of the row of little quakes popping up on the San Andreas offshore -- or "string of little pearls," as Cathryn so aptly named them.

Hate to be so ego-centric and pick California, out of all the places in the world, but California has not had even a 5.0 since last September (9-2-05 Obsidian Butte, a 5.1M), and it usually averages 7-8 per year -- way overdue.

Yes, things have been a little slow on this page. I've had some comments that I wanted to add for discussion, but I've been very busy lately, what with my full-time job, plus the music publishing company that I own and administer(inherited it from my father who wrote many, many songs, including one that Katherine McPhee sang on the next to the last show of American Idol in May -- AI phoned and asked my permission months ago to use the song and I was thrilled that it finally got used). And now, I've started tracing family roots for my genealogy hobby and am having trouble tracing my grandfather -- he was born in Izmir (Smyrna) Turkey of Greek parents, but the Christian section of the city was burnt down by the Muslims (started about Sept 11 in the early 1920's, coincidentally) and the records were destroyed. I've been spending too much time on that, but it's a fun hobby that requires a lot of sleuthing.

Earthquake discussions are coming in a distant fourth place lately.

So many things to do and so little time...
